9 So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.
– Galatians 6:9 NRSV
Working toward wholeness is hard work and not for the faint at heart. There comes a point when I stop and truly pay attention to the weariness I feel from just being a black woman conscious in this world. Not to mention a minister who talks about sex and sexuality a lot. But no matter how tired I feel or weary I get I still do the work.
This week I’m particularly exhausted. In light of this I am keeping this post short and sweet.
My motivation to keep doing what is right in spite of the weariness is what I call W.R.A.P. Wholeness.
Side bar: I LOVE an acronym!
You can follow them successively or let it connect to where you are in your journey. Either way, just keep doing it because wholeness is what is right.
This came to me as I participated in the amazing conversation sparked by #BlackChurchSex. It’s my way of sharing some practical ways I’ve used to do the hard work of reconciling my sexuality and faith.
On another day when I’m not so tired, I will write more. Until then…enjoy.
Will you recognize your weariness? Will you acknowledge the hard work of wholeness? Will you still do what is right? Will you W.R.A.P. Wholeness? Will you be whole?
